KRI Spring Regatta – RESULTS for our crews November 17, 2008

The Spring Regatta was held on Nov 15-16 at Lake Karapiro.
We ‘tented’ at the campground.
RESULTS
WClub 1X A Final Rebecca placed 7th.
WNov 2X A Final Alison, Alannah placed 2nd.
WPrem 1X B Final Dominique placed 1st.
WSen 2X A Final Kylie, Dom placed 2nd.
Rebecca, Alison and Alannah had their lack of fitness exposed and they have resolved to improve!
Dominique was just pipped for a place in the A Final of the Prem single and she blitzed the B Final.
The Kylie, Dom double had a strong race for second in a good field.
This regatta gave us a useful gauge on the state of our preparation for the harder racing to come.
Congratulations to the three girls for their diligence in studying.
Next regatta is at Lake Pupuke on November 29.

Our first 2 Km racing for the season.
Dominique and Kylie competed for their first time as a double in the Sen 2X and Prem 2X and Dominique raced the Premier 1X.
Small fields which lacked some of the younger stars because they had a New Zealand trial week starting today.
RESULTS
Dominique 1st in Prem single. A convincing win against some strong scullers from West End.
Dominique & Kylie led the Sen 2X race by just over a length at the 1 Km mark and then decided to have a collision with the large marker buoy – they were unable to make up the time they lost and came home near the tail of the field.
In the Prem 2X race Kylie & Dom cleared out from the other two boats to win by a distance.
A useful regatta that helped us sort out some wrinkles in technique and race tactics.
We race again next weekend at the 2-day ‘Spring’ regatta at Lake Karapiro. Kylie and Dom willl be joined by Rebecca, Alison and Alannah.
